God's Plan
God’s plan
I'm successful, a strong woman, a warrior, Yes this is me!
I will reach so high, yes I'll touch the sky
Boy I'm so tired, my back, ouch my aching legs
What? I'm pregnant?
No no no, all those plans, all those dreams,
I'm not ready yet, I'm going to Scream!
Feed me some pizza, buy me these chocolates, yes I'm loving this sugar hit
Sorry you're diabetic, you can't eat these, it's time for you to quit
Oh come on! That's not fair.
But it's only temporary, so please take care.
Argh the smell, the sickness, there's so much to learn.
Give me some Mylanta for this horrific heartburn.
Everything's changed, I'm tired, I'm sad, I need help, oh please help.
But those kicks, the scans, the sounds of your beats
Were the cherishable moments that kept me on my feet.
Are you safe? Are you ok my child?
Were thoughts driving me absolutely wild.
I dreamt a soothing water birth as I lie
Wait What! You're coming through a slit
Please no please no I scream and cry
But baby first! Trust the process, everything will be all fine.
Your daddy held my hand while they jabbed my spine
I laid patiently being sliced that day.
“Oowehh oowehh!” voiced my ears as they stitched me away
My heart pounded the moment you were raised
Oh it's a girl! Tears dripped and I steadily gazed
I can never forget the mushy you, covered in slime,
I can't believe it my baby girl, you're perfect and devine.
The first time I touched you, now I'm getting the shakes,
Our first skin to skin. No it's not fake.
You're safe, you're fine and you're all mine all mine!
I'm your mumma now, the suffering has phased
It was all a God's plan and I'm absolutely amazed.
