WHEN I'M GONE

Kgosietsile Kooagile 2005 (Selebi Phikwe)

If the next day starts without me
Don't let tears well up in your eyes
For you should know l've reunited
with Christ
I might have never said goodbye
when we parted ways
But treasure the good in our days
and remember where l lay

As my casket is carried out the
hearse
Be grateful for my birth and
celebrate my death
Don't lament my departure,
I'm in the Heavens
This is a world branded by despair
and loneliness
So preach love and the Gospel to
every single heart

Flowers l received on my tomb,
and not when l was alive
Calamities bashed me but
L fought to survive
With the hope that everything
will be alright
I was caged in desolation and
the Lord saw me
So he called my name to
set me free
.
You'll watch me descend into my grave
But reality is l'm resurrected
into the kingdom
A place of no moonshine but wisdom
A place where l'd receive more
love than l gave
And rectitude outweighs the wickedness

I have left behind all my loved ones
You love me, l know, the feeling
is mutual
I'm here and God tells me it's
eternity
All that he promised is here
My life on earth is done,
my spirit has no fear

I will return stronger
Ready to tread the water
It was my time, l did not croak
prematurely
So when the next day starts without me
It's not goodbye 'cause l know
I'll see you soon
