OMG! I voted for this poem, honestly. It took so much courage to put that in words. I am so sorry you had to go through that, my friend. My heart aches so much for such terrible act. You are one brave soul and I commend you for saying it out loud.

For realz??? So, you were the one. It only got one vote but never said who it was. I'm not crazy about the style of poem or the poem itself, but I enter these for the sake of the contest because more people seem to prefer it. I've entered my good stuff but it's too cerebral apparently, so people aren't drawn to it. And by the way, where the heck have you been??? It's one thing if I take a sabbatical but I will have no friends of mine leaving me in the lurch like this. Hmmmfff! Abandonment is my thing! On a serious note, I am very glad to see you again, Miss Thang. Thank you for your continued support. :-)

yup, was me and I had no idea it was yours. I voted for it because it is such a big issue that I am too concerned about. Not too many people have the courage to write about those things. They’re too scared to do so. It was a brave act.

I’m just here busy doing mommy duties.

"My spirit was pure like a child should be
When you buried me among the dead" really spoke to me. I too am sorry for your suffering. This must of been so difficult to write and to share. You are a badass!

Not to get too personal about the issue, but I recall Tommy, his son, sitting across from us watching as his own father tied me to the bed and molested me. Imagine that, K??? How vile must you be to not only inflict such horror upon an innocent child, but to make your own flesh and blood bear witness to said act. I hope there is a hell. Tommy, ironically, became a Sheriff in law enforcement. I wonder how he now recalls the event as an adult.

what a horrible, vile person. I do hope there is a special place in hell for that man. I’m so sorry that you endured such a horrible trauma. Much love and healing to you my friend. How can anyone completely heal from that I don’t know? It does seem appropriate that Tommy is in law enforcement. Maybe that’s his way of making things right in the world.

It's a strange world for sure. I hope someday we're given answers to what this is all about because most of it makes no sense whatsoever. Ugh!
