I'll Sing Without Singing Lessons
I'll sing without instruction, bold and free
For joy, not fancy technique, guides my voice
I climb the mountains, reaching heights I see
With passion as my guide, I make my choice
I'll raise my voice in song, though not refined
For happiness is what I seek to find
Perfection may elude, but I don't mind
I'll sing with love, not for the critics' kind
The notes may falter, but my spirit soars
As melodies cascade from deep within
No lessons needed, for my heart implores
To share the joy that singing brings akin
So let me sing without a teacher's hand
My imperfect song will help me understand

About this poem
Author and actress Yvonne Padmos wrote this poem out of a deep love for singing and a desire to express their joy through music. She felt a strong connection to the passion and freedom that comes from singing without inhibition or the constraints of perfection. The lyrics of the poem reflect a belief in the power of music to uplift and inspire, regardless of technical skill or criticism. The author and actress wanted to convey the message that true joy comes from singing with love and authenticity, embracing imperfections and allowing the spirit to soar through the melodies. She hopes that listeners will feel the same sense of liberation and happiness when they hear the song, and that it will resonate with anyone who shares their love for the simple pleasure of making music.
