And That's the Hardest Way

I'm always going through the motions

Ever since I lost my dad

And that's the hardest way, my darling

Sometimes I feel so sad

But I need to control my feelings; and I need to be a man

Yet I feel like an alien, deserving nothing that's a fact

I tried to regain my passion

But often all the thrill is gone

I'm 27 but feel ancient

I'll ask you all to sing along

Now, is it possible I deserve this?

Being mistreated by them all

Still running out of patience

Everyone on social media

Will make you believe they got it all

When I look out the kitchen window, tell you what I see: it's the ghost of my own father looking back at me

Time will tell of a reflective surface- and tell you "as you wish."

I think I might be losing myself, time and time again.
