Though every parent would wish he could paint a rainbow in the skies of their children, it does not happen. The parent feels better that his children learn about life by themselves - from struggles they would grow and from failures, they would become wise. more »

Pound is generally coined as Poet, Lover, and Lunatic. However, this poem is a fine observation of man. A man displays a curious and diverse nature, often unpredictable. The human mind is like a drunken monkey which is already a lunatic, bitten by a snake and a scorpion! Just think of the state. more »

An excellent narrative poem from the gifted pen of Wordsworth. Beyond a Nature Poet, he has written poems of this kind wherein he would describe the state of affairs of people who lived in singular circumstances. The description is very vivid here. Notably, a mother becomes kind-hearted and willing to send her idiot boy to fetch a doctor past midnight upon seeing her neighbor's lady lying in a precarious condition without considering her uncertainties about the mission. Who would normally venture to send their children under such odd circumstances to a distant town? We need a deep reflection on this.

This poem shows that man can conquer odd circumstances with his will and a benevolent heart. Thus, the poem finally takes our hearts to a different level from just the level of reading a narrative poem. more »

'The Course of My Last Wish' is my latest addition at Poetry.com. The summary of the poem is:
This is a narrative poem about the irony of a man's final wish in life and the outcome of it. Things need not shape the way we wish while lying on our deathbed. A man who was a native of Dublin was living in London for a long time and his final wish was to flow his ashes on the Dublin Strait. Something else finally took place and the poem concludes with notes on the philosophy of life:- Between the lashing waves and the toll of time, Where is man and the realization of his final wish? Thanks a lot for your high-strung review. I cherish. By 'Mercuric Angels', what I meant was the silver-toned nature of the smalt of Night/Nature and to highlight it used the image of an Angel. The usage of angels led me to further images like Archangels, Parish, etc. Archangels to my thoughts include a "heavenly being', a 'spiritual being' and the like. more »
