I am an Indian national, trained as an editor in a national news daily of India, The Times of India. My domains are International Relations, Energy Studies, Literature (Preferably English, Bengali and Hindi) for studies and Research. I retired from active Journalistic services in 2005, and thereafter took to teaching exclusively as visiting faculty. Currently I teach in the Indira Gandhi National Open University Programmes and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in New Delhi. Poetry comes to my mind all on a sudden, and seldom through any dedicated mode of pursuit. I mostly write Research-based articles for International and National Seminars and publish in their Compendiums, and in Research Journals. I also did some translation from Hindi to English and Bengali (Bangla, as we call the language) to English. I am a serious thinker of life, prospectivity and productivity. When struck by a thought, I research into it, to ideate my expression in poetry. Sometimes, it comes naturally to me. Then I had to scribble it down, to explore the thought later.

Look up n Light

Try me not in chains of gold,
My gate to life’s free n bold
In its soil, a racy lion yet
Crossing hundreds of miles that you cannot pet.

M not crooning in iambic hexameters
To mean lucid, easy going saunters
Of tearful joys of life in...

Song of Fishes

Fishes, fishes, where’re you,
Come to the surface, I catch you.
Do not go ‘nto deep water
I’ll dive in where you are.

Hooker, hooker, chase us not
Life here’s cozy very well sought.
Think of waters giv’ng you food
Multiply we, happy n good....

What’s in life, if Not…

What’s in life, if Not…
Resplendent,
if that’s the word that ignites
the fire in this Festive night of Lights
in my heart,
gelling, melting, in cubic meters,
for you my love
along the space of this earth of the sun,
it’s a providence.

Love for Fire

It’s a providence that we’re here, I mean,
find the lines from
the unmantled blue of the sky,
and find where we had been.
Fire didn’t tell me what not to do. Crooning air laboured hard in telling
the aspects of mirth and dejection, yet
failed...

I gratefully acknowledge the comments on my poems sofar, on the Fishes, and also on the Fire. I thank from my heart everybody who took time to think on my poem/s. Brilliant observations. I admire the critical analyses. These will enlighten me further to write more lucid. Thank you very much.

I look at life with hope and aspiration. Life is full of trials and errors, pangs and exuberance, success and failures, yet life goes on as it does as the continuous sequel of time. Fishes are symbols of tine and the exuberant life. They multiply with the ecological pull for continuity. Hence despondence does not have much longer space. This is my vision of life.

In today's life innocence is often found lost in the cauldron of cunning ambition. Innocence of child is taken too often ignored. Innocence needs to be oprotected.
