Eruption

All my anger

is Mount Vesuvius erupting

over and over again,

Fiery geysers

shooting into the sky.

There is no pause

because the eruption takes a break

then sprays magma all the same.

My stamina outpaces theirs

and my lava...

This is absolutely stunning. I was thrilled it was so long. I was so afraid it would end early. It created such vivid imagery inside me, and such a deep sorrow I cannot find the words for. I didn't even realize the connection to religion till later in the poem, but then it seemed so obvious you kept surprising me, and that is wonderful. You have a gift.
