Hi, I am from Tennessee, I'm 44 years old, a mother of two beautiful twins, a grandmother of identical twin girls, and one grandson. I have always loved to write; it's always been a way for me to get somewhere quiet and just relax. Writing has become an outlet for me to get things off my mind and vent a little through that writing. All of the poems I write are from actual events that have occurred in my life. I am a Police Captain over my departments Criminal Investigatio@n Division. I’ve been in law enforcement for many years and I still love what I do. The downside to my job is having to see the bad, angry, and emotional side of life's tragedies that most people never have to see, thankfully. Not all of my poems are about work, some are about my personal life and the experiences I have faced. If you read my poems I hope you enjoy them and I want to Thank you for taking the time to read them. I hope readers can relate to some of my poems, and the others I hope you never have to relate to at all.

I look over at my husband who's sitting by my side.
watching him stare at us with emotions he could not hide.
A new life we created to care for,...

Don’t Judge Me

When you tell your families "see you tonight" as you leave for work, you mean it.
When I tell my family that, I pray that I will and hope they believe it.
When you're scared you call me, when I'm scared, I have no one to call on.
While you sleep...

An officer’s worst call

I walked into the room not prepared for what I saw;
As my knees hit the floor I asked God, why did you give me this call
I worked on his tiny body until there was no more work to do
Crying for this stranger who I never even knew
My eyes filled...

Open Arms

The day you were born you touched my soul,
you were the missing link that made my life whole.
Those beautiful blue eyes stared up at me in awe,
Gazing at the woman who just became your mom.
As days turned to months, and months to years,
I...
