RAMANA MAHARISHI PART 1
Fear of death
For a boy at his fittest
Enact the role
Of a dead body on the floor
Held his breath
Faked own death
Started his quest
Never gave it a rest
Asked himself the question
What is the purpose of living
Lived life as if dead
Material possessions no interest
Arunachala the word mentioned
On hearing it filled with emotion
Eyes brimming with tears
Made him withdraw into a shell
The town if Tiruvannamalai
The abode of Annamalai
Decided on his destination
Would soon teach the world about self Realization
Wrote a note
He was leaving home
Money meant for school fees
Helped the world find inner peace
Boarded a train
To find his calling
Delayed his finding
Train headed wrong destination
Detour in the route
Not in his pursuit
The ego to uproot
His determination absolute
Hungry and parched
Stopped at a road side shop
Gained strength to walk
Gold earrings bartered for the tuck
The master had summoned
To complete a mission
In his destiny already written
His lord and he create the fusion
Saw the deity
His lifes duty
Remove his Duality
He prayed humbly
Seated in cave
Began to meditate
Loin cloth to don
Oblivious to all there on
Absorbed in the self
Following this births quest
Obsessed like a man possessed
Love for the Lord confessed
Spiritual genius at his best
Transitions first step
Venkatraman from Madurai
To Ramana Maharishi of Tiruvannamalai
