The gypsy and her viking
The gypsy travels to destinations unkind to her heart.
She puts on her false face to face the lumbering crowd.
She performs her dance to amuse those that she simply hopes will accept her.
She reads their cards to make a living if only for a day.
She expresses all and nothing at the same time.
She is a lonely traveler who knows that this is what life must be.
She believes the only way to live or die is in the moments she has become accustomed to.
The viking travels to a new land for the sheer thrill of the challenge.
He dawns his furs and raises his weapons to the ready to fight or hunt.
He lets out a mighty battle cry to intimidate his query but scared inside.
He pretends that the wounds of glory cause him no pain.
He projects his might simply to not be ill thought of by his clan.
He knows that the only path to Valhallah is an honorable death in battle.
He keeps within the thought that the only path to heaven is to love her, protect her, and die knowing that he did all that he could for her.
