Smelling Sinner
Chibuzo Sokwueaku 2021 (Nkpor, Anambra State)
Once,
I was proud of sinning
Now,
I'm afraid of dying
Had I known this death without dying
Or learnt the lessons with no failure
Then,
I will live with pride
And die happy: rest in peace
I stink of brokenness,
A rotten smell oozes off me
I detest people; oh, they detest me too
What baptism can purify me?
Or redeem my polluted self
Cause I can't behold anyone
I drip of disease,
Trying out things got me infested
Serving everyone ripped me off
The sinner!
Death rejects me too
