The Plugged Nickel Song
The Plugged Nickel Song
Life and times changed, not changing, they changed, the climate thermostat too
We missed it all, here we are, still waiting for the change, that already happened
Trains as big as our world, can't stop on a dime, it's the science of momentum
Life expectancy, recklessly floating in mid air, elusive, unstable, no longer guaranteed
Everyone's in the same boat now, rowing not required, it's all motorized ball bearings
Looking at those, who out of nowhere, become victims, of any illness no one wants
Thinking but for the grace of god, there goes me, myself, and I, and yet, could be
Well, that has all changed, from out of nowhere, now we get, long term diseases
Not really completely out of nowhere, with microscopic vision, we can see it coming
Racing to beat the ten, twenty, thirty year plans, time can be on our side, all by chance
Now the rains come, and who will stop the rain, drowning on land, dry, moments ago
Life expectancy curves were arcing ever higher, painted on glass ceilings, now broken
Everybody's in the same boat, money never bought love, but did create easy ways out
Money can't stop the rain, nor long term viruses, now life's renewed, every other second
The really big show, now the same for everyone, the really big change, chump change
