Travelling Man

David Burke 1945 (Ontario)

Travelling Man
I am a travelling man, but not in the way you think
My journey doesn’t rely on machines, drugs or drinks
I prepare if I am to achieve the proper frame of mind
In an idealistic setting, where I can relax and unwind
Establishing a proper atmosphere or mood is the key
To visualize, dream, conjecture and set your mind free
Natural sunlight is ideal but any soft bright light will do
After all, to enjoy your trip, you need a proper venue
A comfy sofa, an overstuffed chair, some place to settle
Soft mood music and leisure cloths will help you nestle
You are about to reap the rewards of this risk you took
By reading the words on the pages of your chosen book
