Island of New Hope

I walked along the sun-scorched steppe,
Exhausted and hopeless.
I walked to nowhere without a map.
Without a need for success.

I was just nonchalant, being free,
But needed some rest.
One lucky day I found a tree
With wide green branches.

I raised to heaven my grateful hands
And laid down in the shadow
On this little island of abundance
In the sea of sorrow.

I left it after two days and nights,
When I got stronger.
But this time I chose another path,
A path to somewhere.
