Memories

I leave tears behind to
Chase my generation
my blood.
How I wallow in deep fears and
tears. Swallow my pain and
press into everything I want to be.

Everything I chose not to be
When my heart alone failed
Me and could not lift pieces
to life in my own mind.

I cried outside of myself
within my skin. I held my
tears for the funeral for those
who will remember the dust
that I will be.

My body only resurrecting through
the veins in my seed, that must
thrive and thrust. Forward into
a life they cannot see. Are you the
wisest? Are you listening?
