The Wake-Up Call/ The Truth
In from the silence comes the answers of peace
From the soft textured lips are emotions from deep
A soul cries out waiting to be heard,
A public too busy to hear one word.
Walking around not making a sound
Baby blue eyes staring down at the ground
Will life be the same, don’t she know?
Tryin to stop the game is messin with the flow.
She wanted someone, she could keep
What she got, what she found
Was under way too deep…
It was something she wasn’t scared of
Because it was something she wasn’t aware of.
Sure, she’s heard it name a time or two
Paid no mind, it won’t happen to me or you.
Little did she know,
It comes in all shapes and all sizes.
So, she went to the doctors to get a test.
Tested for all things,
Now she knew it was best.
The results came back to her surprise
She looked there in front of her eyes
Only to see, she was positive
For HIV...
People ask me…
“Dutch, why do you put your business out there?
Why do you tell people about your HIV?
See I would rather Educate instead of Hibernate,
For Everytime I speak,
that’s one more protected on the street.
See the words that we speak Educate our Youth,
Let them Know The Truth.
Truth is…
You can’t catch it unless your careless,
but today everyone wants to be carefree.
But carefree comes with a wrapper,
So, why shouldn’t we?
Make sure you wrap it, before you tap it
To prevent HIV
