The Soaring Eagle

By Lantern Light, you pushed through
You served our country through and through
Through sweat and tears and as death neared
Your mission was not a forbidden one
God heard your prayers and wiped your tears
An eagle soared and cried for the men unheard
For those that lurked in the shadows of darkness
To see God's light guide them to heaven
You are a hero in my eyes and you survived
I saw you fly to the soaring eagle
in the sky, and thank it
for the calls for the cries
You are here to be with me
A beacon of Hope
A beacon of Love
I will love you until I die and to infinity and beyond
God holds us tight, forever in His light
You are a hero in my heart
I live by your side
As the eagle soars above
A light forever bright
Burns just for half a night
I love you forever more

About this poem

This poem was written for my husband who is a Marine in the Military. It talks about the Journey they push through each day. What they see and how grateful they are to God and the Eagle they hear call.
