Celestial Love
Syeda Saqina Saleem 2001 (Lahore)
How beautifully their lips entwined,
How elegantly their fingers crossed each,
How flawlessly they concealed each ones flaws,
How perfect they were.
Not a soul was desired when they were together.
Together they made everything unworthy,
Together they made each other worthy.
Together they lived,
Yet, vowed to die together too.
How romantically pleasing the were.
Two doves combatting for their peace.
Pair of swans endeavouring for their glide.
More like hostages imprisoned for one another.
The love they made,
Spoiled none except their sheets,
Affection and warmth that pampered them,
In one another arms they found eternity.
The passion they shared,
Held them tightly,
More firmly, and secured them.
Together they could calm the storm.
They were no Adam and Eve,
No Laila and Majnun,
No Romeo and Juliet,
They were soulmates;
They were seraphs to make people believe in love.
About this poem
Love that is shared between two lovers. The love where no a third thing/person is desired. Both the lovers are enough for each other or make either one feel complete. The love which is away from all sorts of corruption.
