Poetic Rant

I can't make a rhyme any time
To be blessed that way would be sublime.
But poetry these modern days
Is far from poetry in traditional ways.
There is no sign of a rhyme,
So one can be "poetic" any time
Without even breaking a sweat.
How amazingly easy can it get?
How sweetly it often flows,
This creation which I learned was prose.
Give me rhyming lines galore,
That magic poetry was named for.
You can applaud your un-rhyming-ness if you must
Dr. Seuss and I will leave you in the dust.
Now call me a little old time-y
I'll keep my good old rhyme-y.
