Someday
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Someday.
Is always that day to come and go.
Most either ignore or regret it missed.
While comfortably sitting.
Making plans to await,
For another someday to procrastinate.
And that to do,
Takes a lot of time to waste.
Many will choose,
A moving to get up and do...
What they should have done yesterday.
To again hesitate.
For a brighter Sun to come.
As countless somedays long to move on,
Gone.
Taking away good intentions made.
But...
It will always be that 'someday',
Depending upon what the weather brings.
To find yet some excuse to make and refuse,
That one day discovered too perfect.
Found to do nothing.
Like everyone else seems to be doing.
'What are you doing,
Up so early in the morning?'
'Exercising.
You know,
Taking advantage of this beautiful day.'
'I was just thinking,
I should do the same thing.'
'Comeon.
Walk with me down to the corner store.
It's just a block away.'
'I've got so much I should be doing.
Maybe someday,
I'll take that walk with you.'
'Okay.
I got up early.
Finished what I had to do around the house.
Now I'm taking time for myself.
To walk and get my exercise in.
Come back and start all over again.
I like to do what I need to do.
Then take a break.
Doing what I want to do.
To stay in shape!'
'Sounds good.
I wish I had that kind of time.'
'Who knows.
Maybe someday you will find it.'
'Well...
Don't let me waste your time.
You know what they say?
Time blessed to have and get,
Is a terrible thing to waste.'
'True.
I heard that.
See you around.'
'Where?'
'There.
LOL...
Where I always see you sitting.
Resting in between your chores!'
'Oh yeah, right.
See you around too.
I'm about to get up.
And finish what I was doing.'
