BETRAYAL
BETRAYAL
I am in love, yes I am
I never knew she could sing so beautifully
Could dance so gracefully
Could smile so brightly
Could cook so deliciously
Her laughter is the clash of many waters
Her eyes the gold that glitters
Her forehead smoother than the cobra’s
Her beauty is all that matters
I never knew she could speak so calmly
Could sleep so soundly
Could act so mildly
Could be so friendly
Her steps graceful and with poise
Her hair sparkles in curls
Her hips control the boys
Her name is William Louise
I am in love, indeed I am
But I never knew she could snore so loudly
Could moan so wildly
Could cheat so proudly
Could hurt so badly
Her venom hidden in the closets
Her poison better than 50 bullets
Her friends are all pick-pockets
Now I know who stole my wallets
I never knew she could drink tirelessly
Could dress immodestly
Could sting mercilessly
Could act shamelessly
Her filth is the sin of many nations
Her vows are all imitations
Her womb damaged with medications
I doubt if she is God’s creation
I am in love, of course I am
But not with the girl called Louise
About this poem
Sometimes we don't always get what we want. And sometimes we want what we can't have - perfection. When that happens, we're only left with one thing - BETRAYAL.
