My Story as a Tree

I wave at the kids
who don't seem to care
if they were a tree
they'd know it's not fair

I feel hungry
as I smell food cook
so to calm me down
I try not to look

they've killed my close ones and I am left
so their memories are what I've kept
I am the reason people live
but in return, they have nothing to give

I am the mother
to the animals here
they rely on me
so predators aren't near

This is a message
you need to spread
before us trees
come to an end
