The Day of Dreams

I've had this disturbing plethora of mindlessness
Roaming through proverbial hell
Humanoid faces melting to reveal a skeletal gait
They look at me quizzically, as if to ponder 'what brought you here?'
The answer was written on their exposed masks:
My pain, I could feel through their peremption
Continuous efforts all falling into the same fissure
Swallowing me whole only to find I had been walking in the sand all alone
No deity, no God to save me from my rhapsodic melancholies
Sadness is a veil I wear to scare the naysayers
From prayers to justify that practicality exists
No order, no refrain from the fires of my untamed mind
After night, daylight emerges
I yearn for the day of dreams when I can finally be awake

About this poem

This poem was written at the eve of my mental illness. When religion and prayers had failed and I was surrounded by darkness. I hope it is influential or at least hails the message that you are not alone
