Still Broken
I see the edge of this bed
It’s where you used to be
When I had things in my head
And you were there for me
I look there now…you’re gone
I can still taste your smells
I don’t feel right I feel wrong
My heart and soul compels
Remembering your voice
Like Mozart to my ears
God I wish we had our choice
Of living out all our years
I still sleep with your pillow
And dream you are here
But your buried beneath the willow
I need you still my dear
Our baby wakes to no mother
And I have lost my wife
Dear God I loved you liked no other
Please angels trade my life
Your love in me will not fade
I keep you close inside
Living in this home we made
I don’t know how I will survive
Baby Anna calls your name
She says “mommy where are you ?”
I don’t think I will be the same
How do I tell her? She’s only two!
This world will be much less
Without your beautiful grace
I think of you in that dress
The first time I kissed your face
My tears still flow like water
I try to stay so calm
But our precious little daughter
Keeps crying for her mom
I know you’re up in heaven
The angels care for you
I’m not sure if I have mentioned
My blue eyes miss your view
So here I am to face this fate
A man without his muse
If I could trade I wouldn’t hesitate
I’d give my life to be with you
If you can hear my heart calling
If you can see me this night
Please know I’ll be crawling
On my knees to beg for light
Little Anna and your husband
Will pray now and forever
So that when our times arrive
We can all be back together
