Welcome Home

Ariana L Sanchez 1989 (Albuquerque NM)

Welcome Home

The moment I put you in this world,
I knew my plan would be fulfilled.
I knew you would share my love with others, and keep your friends closer than  brothers.
I knew the lives you were going touch,
I gave you people to love, very much.
I gave you family and friends,
That would cherish you till the end.
I’ll never forget when you gave me your heart,
You promised to never let us part.
Now you walk by My side,
On golden streets, you abide.
You and I hand in hand.
Dwelling in the promised land,
your time on earth has come to an end.
I needed you home,
My son, my friend.

About this poem

I wrote this poem for my mom when her husband passed. I loved him. He was the greatest step-dad a girl could ever want.
