Separated T o g e t h e r
2 AM
I check my call logs and texts.
Silence was my friend
because I never got the message.
They snarled at me and judged.
They never saw the fuel within the flame
They still see ice on the surface
But never dived to see the heart pieces
Under the waters of my tears
and crashed bridges.
I built a bridge so we could get away.
Sadly,
my tears would break down the paper mâché
5 AM
I check my phone again, I see no change.
I think about our love and wonder if you're ok.
9 AM
I hear the buzzes.
The miss you's and I want you's,
She the bee's knees.
12 PM
I eat my food and then I wait for you.
I wait with my friend Silence because
the noise might bother you.
3 PM
I found the memories that cuddle me,
keep me company
and make me wish for a genie.
I wish you were here.
8 PM
I seem to have you again.
We have the conversations I cherish with you
and my head wishes sleep again.
I hate the days.
I hate it cause I never get to be with you
and what you do in my imagination.
Are you in bed or at the gym?
Are you walking on the beach?
I wish I were with you
Because I miss you!
I want to live our life together
Alone.
I'm tired of "One day",
Because I want you
Today.
About this poem
This poem is about my long distance relationship with my girlfriend as well as a few past experiences of rejection. Honestly she's my one and only and I can't lose her. So I really hope that when you read this you feel the love that I have for her. I love and miss her. A lot. Love is hard but she makes is so much easier. I can't wait to make her my wife and the love of my life.
