who is She?

Mea-mae 2005 (Tennessee)

Who is she?
They asked in the quiet.

She is the girl who everyone adores.
The girl with eyes
More beautiful than a thousand wishes.

She is the girl who loves to be alone.
But the girl
That is afraid of the loneliness.

Who is she?
They asked in the dark.

She is the girl who brought Hades to his knees.
The girl who smiled
Just wide enough to light up the room.

She is the girl who speaks three words but means millions.
But never says it,
‘I love you.’

Who is she?
They asked in the light.

She is the girl who reigned in darkness for years.
The girl who walked hell and back,
Searching for the answer.

She is the girl who gave her all to the dark just for light.
But remains tainted,
Fixing her own heart.

Who is she?
They asked in the loudest room.

She is her.
The flower who dreamed
Wild and young.

She is the girl who laid in strawberry fields,
letting the red become her.
She is the girl with the tragic end.

About this poem

Who is She? is about the girl no one saw. The girl who had to save herself because no one else would but sometimes, it’s not enough.
