Don’t Put Me Up To Bat!

why do my personalities never look the same
i’m the one to blame
i fight my brain over and over until i break it’s such a shame
i aim and aim to be better but it never works
i don’t want to claim this sadness anymore
it really does hurt

i try my best but it’s never enough
i’m fighting my demons it’s pretty tough
i’m looking at myself in the mirror and all i see is failure
what even is this behavior
i cant eat anymore
if i eat i beat myself up
it’s such a shame what my brain endures

everyday is a battle
you never know when someone is struggling
they could just be silent
the world has so much noise no one listens to the people in disguise
it’s all lies
there’s people who want to die
i survived
why cant i be happy for myself, it’s no surprise
i ruin everything that gets good
i have wasted potential
i feel like such a waste
a waste of space
why’s everyone on my case
i just wanted to see the gates
there’s so much weight on my chest
i’m trying to take deep breaths

why do my personalities never look the same
life is just some game
a game i’m never going to be good at
like please don’t put me up to bat
i just wanted to see the gates
everybody looking at me in disbelief
it’s all part of a disguise life is all just one silly little lie.

About this poem

This poem is about living up to societies standards and not feeling good enough no matter what you do. Emotions are really hard to manage especially when you feel them all too much. This poem is very personal to me and it distinguishes my feelings and emotions.
