Indescribable Hell

Deborah L DiBattista 1958 (United States)

Are you there?
You were once vibrant and alive
We watch and wonder
What is left of your mind
The confusion is heartbreaking
But we know you’re in there

Words are all jumbled
Delusions are your reality
Distrust fills your thoughts
This disease is taking you from us
But we know you’re in there.

Your brain can’t absorb what your eyes see
Your mind is shattered
Blank stares bring the reality
We are losing you daily
But we know you’re in there.

You don’t want to be here
You just want to die
We grieve our loss while you’re still alive
Our hearts bleed for you
But we know you’re in there.

One day you’ll be whole again
We will cherish that day
Knowing you are at peace
Will give us our closure
Our hearts will be broken
But we will forever remember
This Indescribable Hell
