Monday

Walt Sisikin 1953 (Santiago)

Monday, a day of work
Some people like it, others smirk
What is there to like?
I get up early in the morning, eat breakfast then jump on my bike
It takes an hour of pedaling hard
This is the only way to take off the lard
Pedal and pedal you must
To make any headway or bust
Monday is tough
The weekend was relaxing and now Monday, life is rough
But, not everything can be enjoyable as such
Imagine if it could be, enjoyment would not be worth much
So, to work we must go
Even though our mind says no, no, no
Take the unpleasure that must be
So that we may take more pleasure on the weekend, you’ll see
