Why

A.M.N 1997 (United States)

Free verse
I wake up everyday
Feeling like I’m im losing my mind.
I wake up, I cry.
I want to die.
Why can’t I?
Why can’t I just give up?
I have an empty cup.
No one to fill it.  
But here I sit,
I stay for a bit, wondering why…
I can’t just die.
Suicide I can’t commit,
My kids won’t get it.
They’ll forever wonder why,
Their mom gave up,
Leaving them high and dry.
