The Weeping Sky

The sky is weeping,
And it’s people heads bowed.
The sky is shedding all its tears,
And the cars are racing back to town.
But I, only I, stop and look.

Head held high.
The lightning, a guard of the skies,
Threatens with all its cries,
I still look.

Not at the falling spears, not at the gloomy clouds, but at the gate of heaven calling me loud, inviting me to accompany.
To a world way beyond the stars.
But I, so humbled by the majesty,
Have missed my only chance.

About this poem

This is the first poem I hav ever written, hence why it holds a special place in my heart. I Have always been amazed by the weather especially when there is rain and thunder, something about it makes me mesmerized. I have also had influence from culture and religion to believe that when it rains that means the gates to God are open and all my prayers are heard.
