The resilient woman
Hlonolofatso. 2006 (Bloemfontein)
She rises like the sun,
Resilient, strong, and bold.
She stands tall and proud,
Her story to be told.
Though others put her down,
She never backs away.
She keeps her head held high,
Her spirit won't decay
Though the world is cruel,
And darkness fills the air,
She shines a light on truth,
And shows how much she cares.
Her courage never falters,
Her heart remains so pure.
She is a beacon of hope,
Her spirit, a cure.
Though the storms may rage,
She weathers every blow.
Her strength, a guiding light,
That helps her spirit grow.
She is a woman of might,
A warrior in her soul.
No matter what comes her way,
Her spirit keeps her whole.
She may stumble, she may fall,
But she always gets back up.
She may feel lost and alone,
But she never gives up.
She's not defined by others,
Or the world's harsh view.
She defines herself by love,
And what she's meant to do.
So when you feel discouraged,
Or your faith starts to fade,
Remember this woman's story,
And how her strength was made.
And know that you too can be
A warrior, just like her.
A light in the darkness,
A beacon, a shining star.
