I love you

Are you on my mind?
Or is my mind on you?
You’d think I’d forget
Feel shame and regret
Instead, I still love you

I excuse all your wrongs
I sing you love songs
Ones you’ll never hear
Because you’re not here
And still, I love you

It makes no sense
This love so intense
Yet so unrequited
Love so uninvited
But still, it’s for you.

About this poem

The words capture a depth of emotion that’s both poignant and relatable. Love’s complexities often defy logic, leaving us tangled in its paradoxes. The heart wants what it wants, even when the mind struggles to comprehend. This poem is a beautiful expression in raw honesty.
