Chosen End
Would you walk with me
When all is lost
Away from crumbling history
The culmination of desperation
Brought upon by greed
Would you search with me
For somewhere quiet, calm, serene
A beauteous vignette,
The perfect set,
To shoot our final scene
Would you sit with me
Till the sun sets on pain and misery
Lovely hues of pink and rust
Nothing matters anymore
But here,
And now,
And us
Would you kiss me
One last wistful symphony
Toxic traces on our lips
Our hearts speed up
And then they slow
Would you lie with me
In the bed we made at last
Among the flowers and the grass
Before it all is turned to ash
Nightmares we will never know
Hold me my love,
Till we return to dust
And everything
That ever was
Is lost
