Dancing in the Rain
Some say the dark, night is the worst.
Some say rain is the dullest.
Some say they can't stand it when it's both.
Personally? I love both, especially at the same time.
I twirl around as the rain scatters little silver drops
That land around my feet.
Roses laugh along when the rain slips off their petals.
Water rises just a little,
About to around my ankles.
The lilies sing their song of contempt.
I command the rain to fall,
And it does.
The rain stings my skin,
But instead of hurting, it feels delightful.
Stronger now,
Knowing the full moon is right behind the clouds.
Twirling faster now, I see the rain in a blur.
I stop to watch the projectiles bounce, breaking like glass on the pavement.
I look up, and wet crystals fall into my eyes,
Slightly amused, I breathe the pure liquid in.
And instead of choking, I'm comforted.
Slithering like a snake down the window panes around me,
The rain is longing for a home, too.
I look for the miniature rainbows hidden inside the little prisms of light that surround me.
A world veiled from the human's eye.
Dark clouds laugh joyfully, as if to say everything is going to be alright.
My hair is plastered to my face,
And my head is spinning, still dizzy.
So I let myself plop down in the middle of the high waters.
My face, barley poking out in the water,
Is attacked by the diamonds so many have prayed for, but take for granted.
Drumming echos in my ears,
The buzzing of electric waterfall.
Joyous laughter is heard
From the orchids,
Who dance around me as the wind howls in perfect tune
To the sound of rain.
The magic isn't seen,
Until you're dancing in the rain.
