I before E
"I before E except after C"
This one confuses the likes of you and of me,
But there is more to confuse you during the day,
Or when sounded as A, as in neighbour or weigh,
But then explain the word Friend,
A person with you sometimes to the very end,
Disgusting it is…is what I say,
We should spell as we talk and throw I before E away,
Just think how much easier it would be,
Especially for us poets…the likes of you and me,
Friend would be Frend, so easy to mend,
There is no 'I' in team…but don't happen in the end,
Confusing it is, to be English today,
I blame the Romans…after all, they made it this way,
Oh for a mother tongue…shame she is not here today,
Loved her pronunciation… made me smile too,
But not today, for the likes of me and of you,
Then you got the silent 'F' Ph for goodness sake,
I mean… how many mistakes can we make,
oh, almost forgot the other silent 'F' of T and of H Gee,
Like to confuse us more especially you and of me,
So, P..H T..H and then there comes the word PYSCHIC,
I really don't like it,
Enough to drive a man to drink,
Not a bad idea right now I do think,
Say it as you sound it I surely say,
Yes, forget the idiots of yesterday,
Thursday would become Fursday,
Psychic become Sykick.. I quite like it this way,
Ceiling becomes seeling… yes, like it I do,
But then… here's a worry for me and of you,
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis,
Yes, it is a word look it up and you will see,
Crazy old world we live in the likes of you and of me,
Keep it simple is what I do say…
