From the time they laid you beside me

From the feel of your tiny kiss

My heart overwhelmed with love

And made this woman, in bliss

Every time you cried mama!

I have felt your pain

Every time you smiled, mama

Your funny ways, made me insane

As you grew to a woman, I seen the heart of gold

Blessing this old woman

Proudest untold

You carry this heart, this mind, and comfort for all these many long days

And give me unfailing love in so many ways
