Sundays

Lord I don't have a dollar I just stopped in to pray
Lord I don't have a penny just trying to make my way
I have been through hard times I smiled through the pain
I'm just here and asking for a little break from all the rain
I noticed you said I'm welcome I know that you've been there
Your sandals must be worn out leaving the ones that didn't care
I always feel your presence thank you for standing by me
I am sure that it's not easy knowing what will be
Tomorrow is a new day the dawn brings hope and light
I pray that you'll stand with me when it comes my turn to fight
The devil's always asking tempting me to stray
I just keep believing that you'll provide justice in your own way
Lord I don't have a dollar I just stopped in to pray
Lord I don't have a penny could you bring peace today
