The Betrayal

Looking at your face, I know your trust in me is being misplaced.

I see trust and mistrust in the looks that you give. Holding that doubt, your instincts, deep within.

Showing in your eyes that you know all I tell you are nothing but lies.

I see future pain and suffering deep within your soul. Screaming out,"I you for making me the fool."

Knowing in the end that I was so wrong for hurting and betraying my friend.

Angelina Maria Dickson

I am a 23 year old journalist lucky enough to be working as the city-beat reporter for my hometown. I love writing and have been writing for as long as I can remember.Writing poetry is something I have done since I was 10 and haven't stopped since. I attempt to translate the deep feelings that inspire hope, fear, loss, love and despair into words that encompass all that I am.Anyone reading this or anything I've written, thank you and I hope my words speak to you as so many others' have done to me. more…
