The Poet and the Poem (A Message to EVERYONE HERE)
Why be a poet? And why write a poem?
There are those who come here and go on other sites
to post their work out of despair for an audience.
There are those who come here and go on other sites
Because they want to be accepted by the general populus.
Most, of course, come here and engage in other forums
Because they want to indirectly make a fast buck or two.
Why SHOULD we write here, or on other sites???
T'is the burning inquiry, indeed...
I am an altruist, when it comes to art and entertainment.
I care little-no-none for glory, money or love by the people.
SURE an audience of a decent size and/or enthusiasm
Can be desired at times.
SURE getting paid might be a little tempting.
But the central concept I am pointing out is this:
The poet and the poem should be here and elsewhere
To be creative and to ENJOY creativity;
To get those in need of a kick in the rear
To become INSPIRED...to ASPIRE...to something.
Shattered dreams come about, because poeple come up
With excuses as to why they can't go too far-
Misery abounds on all sides, and at all corners,
Because people are too afraid to make the effort...
But the poet CAN be an inspiriation to acheive grandness;
And the poem can be a guide-text to bettering oneself.
But best and most of ALL... poetry is...
Simply magnanymous,... and phenomenal...in its entirty.
That is a fact for sure.
KEEP WRITING, KEEP ENJOYING, NEVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS, AND NEVER STOP THE CREATIVE PROCESS!
-Warmest, sincerest regards,
DAN LANDA
