Timid Love
Hast thou e'er seen it, tasted of it, felt it?
It tremors within thy breast as a candle flickers in the breeze,
And with all ardor, thine heart pulsates at the sight of her.
Must mine heart be troubled so?
Oft thou wonderest why I stare;
T'is the feeling I crave when thine eyes merge with mine own.
Thou keepest me bedazzled,
For beauty hath given herself unto thee in much abundance.
Harken thou unto me, Lady Fate
And deliver that which I desire.
The fire and fear that floods my soul fazes me,
Yet, mine hunger urgeth me on.
Ah, the scent of her draweth me like a bee to a rose.
Softly, mine hand lighteth upon her own
And they together perform a delicate dance.
In her arms I am as a leaf that fluttereth in the wind.
She holdeth me with a warm embrace,
And her countenance well nigh exceeds the glory of the sun.
The smile she bestoweth interprets the content of her heart,
Now assured am I that she loves me.
