The Stars
Daniel McLaughlin 1983 (Lansing)
Every time I look to the sky at night and see the stars it takes me back to a time in a far away land.
Years ago while traveling through the desert scared and missing the one I love, I would gaze up and see her face amongst the beautiful stars. Looking I would imagine her embrace.
Looking up to the stars was a way to see her one last time and imagine that we were looking up at the same time. In my heart I could feel every inch of her and asking God to get me home to the one I love.
I fought in a land so far from my own and fought for my brothers so that they may all go home. But most of all I fought to see her again and begged God for him to allow me that chance.
I fought for her so that I may see her again....
