Stars
akanksha angral 2001 (jammu and kashmir)
long I stand beneath this gleaming sky,
the dawn to dusk passes by, to enjoy,
far the misery of a starry night.
oh! these flickering lights, shine next to moon,
from apart the landscape, glows the city,
a thousand lamps and a thousand more dreams.
where to start? where to stand? uncertain aim,
to start journey, where I go the sky stays same.
these constellations shine into the clouds,
and this crescent lunar contour my thoughts.
amongst these nights, there's a falling star that
holds a vanished flame, call it a beauty,
gaze and gaze until nothing left remains,
to watch this eternal realm, lids apart.
