Analysis of shattered

When I received your text,
my heart fell to the floor.
Shattering like glass,
I knew I'd been here before.

It's different this time,
I loved the boy so much.
How he held my hand,
with a soft, gentle touch.

Forever and ever,
until the end.
The love was real,
not just pretend.

It's only been a day,
but I miss him already.
Although we're not together,
my love for him still grows steady.
