Analysis of TIMESLIP

Out of the dark come hideous monsters
From out of another time and place,
Creatures from the depths of the cosmos
From some evil corner of outer space.

Closing in upon their human quarry
Prehistoric reptiles start thundering,
Across toward their chosen victims
Leaving terrified people all wondering:

How such atrocities could ever be?
Beings from outside of all sanity,
Surely from somewhere beyond
The knowing of mere humanity.

From far beyond the sane world
Abominations too foul to even believe,
Things that slipped through to the Earth
Or from the very depths of the sea.

Fiery dragons from out of legend
Appear, then stalk the modern land,
Burning down entire villages
Until the fires get out of hand.

Beasts and people are both afire
In what is now left of our planet,
Animals shrilling in foul victory
Killing the human race without regret.

Out of the deeps of blackest space
A time-slip lets through hybrid-reptiles,
Come out to plunder our world
Demons so huge and ever so vile.

THE END
