Analysis of Circling the drain

Circling the drain
I’ve been here before on this floor
Scratching the surface of rock bottom
Clawing for a way out
Out of this dark hole
This void
This empty space
I’ve been here before many times before
Ive crawled out of this blackness
Ive filled this emptiness
I discovered the way out
Just looking for another way out
Detach from first person
Engage in third
The only way I can deal with this unbearable human condition
Tucking myself to sleep in the blanket of my pain
My darkness cradles me
My shadow rocking me to sleep
Fading away into my suffering
Hiding in my hurt
Feeling all the way through my fire
Burning alive
I’m not dead yet
Just circling the drain
