Analysis of Golden Autumn

Douglas H. Mc Clintock 1934 (Sarnia, Ontario)

Spring, summer, autumn and winter
But who is the fairest of them all ?
Age before beauty, they say with a whimper !
Autumn with gold leaves clearly the winner.

How beautiful when leaves grow old
How full of light and color.
Each one is very unique
No two alike to each other.

Oh to be in sleepy Alvinston town, a village so rare,
To see the golden leaves still hanging on
With country barns and stacks of hay so fair,
The last of Autumn time, the sun throws the light upon.

Autumn is liken to s treasure chest
Ripe with wisdom for all to share.
It is a life to be in color to be the best
Where inner beauty to be sought is beyond compare !
