Analysis of How and Why

How and Why

how has this come to be?
I ask myself looking for reason
looking into his eyes
I find myself
how can I be there?
how could I ever face a night
or a day?
my age is upon me wilting
these fragile bones hold tight -
to life though my heart faints at his sight
maybe he is un-aware!
can he realize it in my shy stare?
I can feel the night falling
surly he will embrace me
hug my tired bones.
where will all these days lead?
I wonder will he remember the scarlet leaves
or the sun cutting through the frost
O' how he finds me in the darkness!
I pray he never loses me in the shadow
as the day crosses the morning bridge
will he still recall those bridges?
even as these bones ache with the thought
of leaving I can't go and leave him lonely
now in age I have this yearning that lingers.
but the urge is wasting away
taking me with it
it's too demanding yet inviting
my body worn but still warm with longing
how can I hold this stare in his eyes?
there is no defying time!
I'm grateful to had been held captive by his eyes
still, I don't know how or why.
